ULMAN T4902 is braided from aramid fi lament yarn and impregnated with PTFE. The base material – aramid fibre – is a synthetic fibre with very high strength.
The packing shows only minimal wear even under very high pressure.
Application
The packing is suitable for sealing in numerous chemically and abrasive media as well as in water and steam up to 280 °C. Thanks to the high strength of the aramid
fibre, it can also be used in high-pressure applications and under demanding operating conditions. The PTFE impregnation allows its use in rotary pumps, with the main fi eld of application being piston pumps. In particular, ULMAN T4902 has proven to provide significant service life extensions when used with abrasive media.
Due to the high yarn strength, the use of shaft sleeves is recommended.
