MembranesBead Moulded Diaphragms
Bead Moulded Diaphragms – Flexible in Tight Spaces
Bead moulded diaphragms feature one or more concentric beads. This special geometry acts as an elastic expansion joint, allowing the diaphragm to accommodate large axial movements while offering minimal resistance.
Thanks to the beads, the diaphragm can accommodate a larger stroke without the material being excessively stretched. This design is therefore particularly well-suited for applications that require high mobility combined with a compact design.

When and where are bead moulded diaphragms used?
Bead moulded diaphragms are used in measurement, control, and process technology, among other fields. Typical applications include, for example:
- high-sensitivity gas pressure regulators
- measuring instruments
- other applications involving large axial movements
What are the advantages of a Bead moulded diaphragms?
- Large stroke with low resistance – The beads allow for large axial movements with low contact force.
- High flexibility – The elastic geometry ensures reliable diaphragm movement.
- Compact design – Large travel ranges can be achieved even in confined spaces.
- Compensation for housing tolerances – The elastic beads can compensate for manufacturing tolerances within the housing.
- Low stress on the material – The design reduces excessive stretching of the material and can thereby extend its service life.
- Very thin designs possible – Beaded diaphragms can also be manufactured with exceptionally thin walls.
