MembranesDisc-shaped diaphragm

What is a disc-shaped diaphragm?

Disc-shaped diaphragms are elastic sealing elements with a disc-shaped, curved geometry. Thanks to their special shape, they can accommodate moderate strokes while simultaneously generating a defined restoring force.

This design is particularly well-suited for applications that require stable and repeatable motion or switching behavior. Depending on the application, disc-shaped diaphragms can be customized in terms of material, geometry, and design.

What are the advantages of disc-shaped diaphragms?

  • Defined return force – The dish-shaped geometry supports controlled motion and return behavior.
  • High inherent stability – The domed shape gives the diaphragm high dimensional stability.
  • Suitable for medium strokes – The design is intended for applications with medium travel distances.
  • Reproducible response behavior – The defined geometry ensures consistent switching and motion behavior.
  • Customizable – Material, dimensions, and geometry can be adapted to the application.

Where are disc-shaped diaphragms used?

Dish-shaped diaphragms are used wherever an elastic seal with defined movement and recovery characteristics is required.

Typical applications include, for example:

  • Measurement and control technology
  • Control and switching applications
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Pressure and force transmission
  • Technical equipment and systems
  • Applications with medium strokes

The specific design depends on the respective operating conditions and requirements of the application.
